The Sauvignon Blanc grape hails from the Loire Valley of France, at Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Sauvignon Blanc is also found in the Bordeaux region of France, where it is blended with Semillon and Muscadelle to make White Bordeaux wines. Some California wineries produce wine of similar style, often called White Meritage. Also in California, the term Fume Blanc is used for the wine. New Zealand has had great success with Sauvignon Blanc, especially in the Marlborough region.
